We have to admit, the events industry is swarming with people! You’ll find a surprising variety of characters and personalities on every single team. Here at The Nation, it’s no different. In the past 40 years or more, countless talents and passionate human beings have passed through the doors of our company.

You could even call this diverse group a “melting pot” of humans! It’s a melting pot that also happens to be extremely effective, since its members all share the same vision when it comes to designing and holding an event.

We all want the same thing: to succeed, to accomplish what we set out to do, and to see little stars of wonder shining in the eyes of our clients and partners. We work hard to earn their heartfelt thanks, to spark the kind of discussions that lead to long-term collaboration, and to begin beautiful business relationships, even friendships.

But how can we accomplish this when our team members have such different personalities, and nonetheless have to work together on the same project? We don’t have the perfect solution. But what we do have is resilience, respect and agility.

We have the resilience to accept that there’s no use fighting what we can’t change, and to focus instead on what can be improved.

We have respect for each other, our work, and our skills.

We have the agility to adapt to whatever we run into along the way, to make the most of it, and to learn from every situation.

Our team is proud of having overcome many obstacles in the past few years. For some, it was losing a loved one. For others it was the pandemic, a significant departure or even just a lack of motivation. Each of us has had good days and bad days. We’ve learned to listen, and to have more empathy for each other and for ourselves.

One thing is certain: Whenever one of us is ready to give up and starts feeling like there’s no end in sight, the rest of us roll up our sleeves. We’re heading into the future together, with enthusiasm and a common vision: pride. Pride in our team and what we’ve accomplished together. Pride in each and every team member. Pride in the clients and partners that rely on us.

Some days are harder than others. But other days are great!
